Emporio Armani combines the marble columns and sculpted
ceilings of 1915 with sleek, contemporary, wood-and-metal
minimalism. Attractive scenesters mix with serious shoppers,
thanks to the in-store cafe--a perfect spot to enjoy an
espresso or some light Italian fare of the field-greens-and-focaccia
variety.

Goods:
Armani's designs
may no longer flout the conventions of fashion as they did
when his quest for "the perfect jacket" first led
him to remove the garment's structural elements. But that's
OK--now he's the guy who sets the conventions. Even so,
Armani still looks to inject a "transgressive"
element into his simple, rigorous designs. In addition to
the famous suits for men and women, the store offers casual
and sporty attire.
